SUMMARY:Sean Kanan - Author of Success Factor X
DESCRIPTION:Sean Kanan is an internationally renowned actor best known for is iconic role as Deacon Sharpe in the daytime drama The Bold and the Beautiful. Sean has been a hard-working actor ever since receiving his degree from UCLA. Shortly after graduation\, he landed one of the major roles in the megahit Karate Kid III\, starring as Ralph Macchio’s nemesis. He followed quickly followed with roles on the TV series produced by Francis Ford Coppola’s The Outsiders\, and Oliver Stone’s Wild Palms. He subsequently moved to network television with roles on General Hospital\, Sunset Beach\, The Bold and the Beautiful\, and The Young and the Restless. \nRecently\, with soap opera fans clamoring for his return\, Sean revived his role as Deacon Sharpe on The Young and The Restless\, the show from which The Bold and The Beautiful was spun off. Sean also recently completed filming South 32 directed by Jake Barsha\, Limelight directed by James Cullen Bressack\, Youthful Daze\, and  Prodigal\, the directorial debut Julie Pacino\, the daughter of Al Pacino\, in which he was cast as in the leading role. \nOther TV credits include guest roles on Freddy\, Who’s the Boss?\, VIP\, The Nanny\, Walker: Texas Ranger\, Lois and Clark\, and True Jackson VP. Film credits include Hack\, where he starred and served as Executive Producer\, as well as the comedy\, Chump Change\, the action films Chaos Factor and Extreme Limits\, and the independent film 10 Attitudes. \nIn addition to acting\, Kanan frequents the comedy club circuit and makes numerous appearances at the world famous Hollywood “Improv\,” “The Laugh Factory” and the “HaHa\,” where he offers his perspective on his ten years in daytime television\, his time living in Italy when he was a featured contestant on the Italian Dancing with the Stars\, and getting beaten up in Karate Kid III which doesn’t compare to life with his wife and five children. He also toured with the USO\, entertaining in places such as Bosnia and Kosovo. \nSean is the son of Rotarian Dale Perelman and his wife Michele. \n \n  \nSuccess Factor X \nSociety has a preoccupation with celebrities\, pop-culture and the pursuit of success. There is no shortage of autobiographical success books. How is “Success Factor X” unique? Most notably\, it is not a business book on what it takes to be successful. Rather\, it showcases highly accomplished people sharing tips and advice based on their lives and personal journeys. The book has a wonderful hybrid nature combining a coffee table format with insight and inspiration. “Success Factor X” is not about accomplished people\, it is by accomplished people. Our book has original content provided directly from the participants. It is an upbeat compilation of the advice from fifty successful people\, a quick read and a book that can be referred to often.

SUMMARY:Father McCaffrey Working with the FBI and Flying
DESCRIPTION:Father Joseph McCaffrey was born and raised in the former mining town of Muse\, PA\, Cecil Township\, Washington County. In 1983\, he graduated cum laude with a major in Philosophy and a minor in Psychology from Duquesne University and St. Paul Seminary. The Diocese of Pittsburgh assigned him to the major seminary of the Pontifical College Josephinum in Columbus\, Ohio\, where he graduated summa cum laude with a Master’s Degree in Biblical Studies and Master’s Degree in Divinity in 1987. In the same year\, Bishop Anthony Bevilacqua ordained him a Priest of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh at St. Paul Cathedral on May 23. \nHis first priestly assignment was as Parochial Vicar at St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin Parish in Whitehall\, Pennsylvania. He served for 1½ years in that position and was later assigned to St. Benedict the Abbot parish in Peters Township\, Washington County. Soon after\, he was also appointed the first Chaplain to the Federal Bureau of Investigation for the Pittsburgh office. In 1995\, Fr. McCaffrey gained the distinction of being the youngest priest assigned as a pastor in the Diocese of Pittsburgh when he was appointed pastor of St. James the Apostle in New Bedford. At the same time\, he was appointed Chaplain to the New Castle Youth Development Center\, a maximum-security prison for juvenile offenders. Fr. McCaffrey built an interfaith chapel in the center of the facility which was dedicated in November 2001. On June 24\, 2002\, he became pastor of Saints John & Paul Parish in Franklin Park. As pastor of Saints John & Paul Parish\, he oversaw the building of the 1\,500-seat church which Bishop Zubik dedicated on May 2\, 2010. \nFr. McCaffrey remains Chaplain to the FBI and is a member of the FBI’s Advanced Crisis Intervention Team. He has been called upon to serve after such tragedies as the crash of US Air Flight 427\, Egyptian Air\, Kosovo War Crimes\, 9/11 United Flight 93 in Shanksville\, the line of duty deaths of two special agents and numerous interventions and critical incidents. Fr. McCaffrey has also served on several other diocesan boards and councils. You might be surprised to know that Fr. McCaffrey was a Deputy Wildlife Conservation Officer for the state of Pennsylvania and is a licensed private pilot with an instrument rating. He was elected Vice President of the National Association of Priest Pilots in 2015. He was also blessed with the opportunity to fly with the Blue Angels on June 4\, 2014! \n

SUMMARY:Outstanding Entrepreneur Dinner 2018
DESCRIPTION:New Castle Rotary will be honoring the Medure Family and Medure’s Catering at a banquet on Monday\, May 21\, 2018.  This is the 13th year that Rotary has honored an Outstanding Entrepreneur from Lawrence County.  The dinner will be held at The Villa at 6:15 PM.  The price is $35 per person or $325 for a table of ten.  Please contact Dale Perelman at 724-654-9430 or dale.perelman@gmail.com to reserve your seats.  You may also mail a check payable to New Castle Rotary Club #89 to 223 Tanglewood Drive.  \nMedure’s Catering was founded in 1979 by Matty and Darlene Medure in 1979 with the goal of serving the New Castle community.  Over the years\, Medure’s Catering has become known for offering the best food and service throughout the region.  \nMatty and Darlene have four sons\, Peter\, Matthew\, David and Jack.  All four boys ended up with careers in the Hospitality and Food Service Industry.  Matthew and David are currently living in Florida and own and operate one of the most successful Restaurant and Catering Groups in North Florida.  Peter and Jack remain involved in the local business. \nIn 2004\, Matty and Darlene Medure partnered with their son\, Peter\, with the goal of developing a plan to grow and expand the local catering business.  The first objective was to agree on a core principle\, which was a simple one; the customers will be treated like family and the team will work tirelessly to offer the best food quality for a fair price.  The second objective was to find a location which would allow for not only future expansion but would allow for in-house banquet and event operations.  As a result\, the Villa Banquet Centre was purchased\, and renovation and construction expansion began soon after.  \nThroughout the nearly four decades\, one thing has remained the same; customers and employees are treated as family and serving them both remains the central focus of the leadership team.
